A Senior, a deer, and a wild hairdo

(Dontcha love my titles?! ha)
Got another Senior Preview! We had a hard time actually getting this session done, it hailed the day we first were going to do his photos, and it rained the next time, but third time's the charm! It was a very good day for pictures the day we went, and he had come up with a fun new location for some of his outdoor photos. Here is Michael:

Hope you enjoy these pictures, and I will let you know as soon as I get your proof book and online viewing set up. Thanks so much!

This weekend was a crazy but fun one for our family. Some friends of ours, Tyler & Kellie Penn from Decatur came down and spent the weekend with their kids. The guys hunted all weekend (I'm not kidding, they went morning and evening Thurs-Sat) and Kellie and I pretty much hung around the house and chased the kids, talked editing and shopped online! It is always fun to get together with them! Tyler and Johnny didn't get any deer this weekend, but Johnny did get one last weekend, an 8 point buck. Here he is with it!
And here are my brave girls!
I am surprised that touching a dead deer didn't freak them out, but it didn't. They were just fine with it! (I know they look crazy here, but we had just gotten baths and were ready for bed when Johnny called us to have us come see his deer, so we threw on coats and ran outside!)

Speaking of looking crazy, I took some snapshots of Ava's hair when she got out of bed yesterday morning. This last one is the face she makes when you ask to see her dimples! She's so funny!
She has the most insane hairdos when she first gets up! Johnny always says she looks just like my mom on Christmas morning! (Mom has very wild hair when she wakes up too!) And Ava's hair is about the color and texture of my mom's right now! No offense Mom, but I do hope Ava's thickens up! :)
Well, I have loads of work to do, so have a great day!

A Little Cowboy

This is a preview for a mommy who told me she checks 6 times a day to see if her son's preview is up yet! Well the wait is over, here is your preview of your little Caleb cowboy!
It was pouring the day we did his shoot so we didn't get to go outside at all, but we still managed to have a pile of leaves to play in! :)
He did a great job, and this is the first time I have ever put a child into the trunk and they didn't cry! Yeah! Thanks for a great session! I'll have your proof book next week!

This morning Ava was looking at my "big beldy" and she was patting it and kissing it and we were talking about the baby, and she said, "How'd ya get it?" which made me laugh, and I just said, "there's a baby in there!" and she said, "We can't open it yet!" like he's a present we are waiting on pins and needles to open up and enjoy. It was so cute! I am 26 weeks pregnant now, if you are interested in learning about a 26 week baby, click HERE.
I went to the Dr. yesterday and he says I'm measuring right at 26 weeks, the heartbeat sounds great, and I have to come back in 3 weeks and do the glucose test, so that's no fun! But at least my visits will be more often than monthly now, so that means we are getting closer! :)

Fall Engagement Session

I haven't had any engagement sessions since August, it has been Senior season the past few months! It was nice to meet this cute couple and we had a great session. We managed to find a few fall leaves for their pictures! Here are David & Ashleigh:
These of them laying in the leaves are my favorite! So cute!
I will be doing their wedding photos in December and am looking forward to that! Thanks for a great session, and I'll see you all soon!

A Fall Kids Session Preview

Here are 2 little boys that were a lot of fun to work with! They were very cooperative, and just a little shy, but we had a very easy session! We started with some indoor shots, and then went out to find some fall leaves! I took my big red wagon, which they loved, and we had a good time. They are not brothers, their moms are just good friends, so they combined the sessions, which actually worked out quite well! Here are Landon and Henry:
I don't know if Mom wanted to get in on the shoot or not, but this was too cute to pass up! I should have your proof books by the end of this week or early next week! It was great meeting you guys and thanks for a fun session! Your kids are adorable! :)

A Winner and a Wedding!

Well, we didn't go to Nashville as planned. :( I have been looking forward to this for a few months, but it seemed like we all had reasons that we couldn't go (work, finances, sick children) so we decided that maybe it was best if we stayed home. I think mom called to cancel our hotel reservations with 2 minutes to spare! It was not an easy decision! Sorry girls in Nashville, I love you and hopefully we'll see you soon! :) I really wanted to go, but Maddie Kate got up Thursday morning with her eyes matted shut, and a horrible cough. We went to the Dr., and she has sinusitis and infected eyes. So we have antibiotics and eyedrops! I think her eyes got messed up either at the pumpkin patch-very dusty- or when I put mascara on her for Trick or Treating. Maybe it was both! Mom, me, Kimmy & Ava went shopping Saturday at St. Claire, and I bought some Christmas stuff and found some winter maternity mostly, so at least we got to do that!

It's time to announce the winner of the blog contest for the month of October! I drew a name from all the comments that I had gotten on the blog this past month and the winner is....
I am pleased to tell you that you have won a free session from me, to be taken in the month of November! So give me a call and let's set up a time for that shoot! Congratulations!

I think I will just do the same thing for November. So here's the new/same blog contest for this month! I like comments! :)
Now for some wedding pictures! I did this couple's engagement shoot back in July, and got to know them a little then. They are cute, so obviously fun-loving, and fun to be around! Their wedding was so much fun to photograph, and they were both so happy on their wedding day, even before the wedding when they hadn't seen each other yet, they were pretty giddy, and it was so cute! Here are some images from Jake & Andrea's day:
The reception was at the Rend Lake Resort, and the sun was setting at just the right time, so we were able to get some beautiful sunset shots by the lake! I really like these!

This last picture was the flowergirl with her family, and I just thought it was absolutely adorable, I had to include it! And here are a few images taken by my assistant, Alisa, and edited by me. She always takes photos of the girls getting ready, lots of detail shots and angles that I can't get to, so her work is lots of fun!

Well, now I guess I have to send a proof book to Ecuador! That's definitely a first for me! After the honeymoon they were moving to Ecuador for a year, so I will be shipping the photos there...pretty interesting, I think! Hope you guys are enjoying your time out of the country!:) Thanks for a fun day and a great wedding experience!
