Storyboards

Lots of storyboards and Christmas Cards, that's what I did today! What is a storyboard?
A storyboard is a collection of photos from your session that are all on the same print. I take the photos you select and design your storyboard depending on the size you choose. (Usually an 11x14 or larger) It can have names, words, or any titles that you want! There are so many choices and possibilities with as storyboard, and it is a really cute way to display lots of images at one time!
I thought I'd do a quick post just to show a few storyboards that I have done today and in the past few months. (I won't be showing any Christmas cards, because I just feel like that's not fair to the people sending them! :) )
Anyway, here are a few of the many storyboards that I created for families today!
This one is one of my favorites! I really like the colors and the cowboy look!
I wasn't sure what to do at first with this mishmash of photos, but I decided to make it look like all the photos had just been dropped onto the background, and I thought it turned out really cute!Lots of Cowboy storyboards today! :)
Now here are a few I did a few months ago of the baby girl twins.
These next ones are some I did last year for Christmas gifts for some of the kids I used to babysit for.

These below are storyboards I made for Johnny's parents of his grandparents. (There is one more grandma, but I can't seem to find her storyboard)
These are some storyboards I made earlier in the year, originally as covers for my proof books, but the mommies liked them so much they ordered them as prints!

And lastly, this is a storyboard I made of Ava celebrating her first year!
This is something that would be so cute if you had several sessions done during baby's first year! Choose your favorite image from each session and have them all together on one print showing your babies growth! (Just in case you were wondering, the storyboards do not say "Jessica Hollis Photography" great big on them! That's just the watermark for my blog! :) )

So those are some ideas for you in case you are interested in having a storyboard made from your past or current session with me! There are so many endless possiblities! Contact me today if you are interested in having one made! They make wonderful gifts!

More Christmas Family Pictures

This session was fun for me for several reasons! Jamie, the mom, is a longtime friend of mine, I used to babysit for the 2 older girls when they were little bitty (I remember we watched Muppets & played Barbies!), and because this family is one of the first that I really remember photographing when I was still just shooting as a hobby. I went on a little search and found this image from several years ago when I was new to studio lighting and still shooting with film. I'm guessing this was 4-5 years ago....I'm not sure!
Boy, have I learned a lot since then and the family has grown a lot since then! Here they are now, still as cute as ever!I love it! The most noticeable change (obviously) being the adorable baby on top of the stack! :) She's the little Christmas angel!
Look at those eyes! So beautiful!
Thanks guys for letting me photograph your adorable family! I am setting up your online viewing asap so you can get something chosen in time for Christmas! :)

We went tonight to DuQuoin State Fairgrounds to let the girls see the Christmas lights, and also to Candy Cane Lane in West Frankfort. They were most impressed by Candy Cane Lane, mostly because of all the characters! We had to drive through twice so they could take it all in! Ava thought "Candy Cane Lane" meant she was going to get to eat lots of candy, so we were glad there were some girls there taking donations and handing out candy canes!

NOTE TO Seniors & Family Christmas Photos: Please get your orders in to me ASAP so we can get them done in time for your yearbook deadlines and Christmas Cards, etc. I need to receive them by Friday (at the latest) so you won't have to pay for rush shipping!

Family-Christmas-Birthday Pictures

This session was a combo of all of the above! We did family pictures, for which Caleb was not in the mood for due to a short nap that day! We got a few cute ones though! Then the next day I finished up with him by himself, for his Christmas and 2 year pictures. He looked so cute in his little Christmas tie! :)
I love this one of him looking at his reflection in the ornament! So cute! :)
I have to get to sleep, I have my last wedding of 2007 tomorrow!
I am 30 weeks pregnant, only 10 weeks left! Here's the link for a 30 week baby! Click HERE!

Second post today?!

I finished another senior (I think my last one for 2007...) and I wanted to get her preview up! When we set up her appointment, she had a cast on her arm that she didn't want in her pictures, so we decided to do a mini-session so she would have a few to choose from for the yearbook (here at Sesser, those are due when the kids leave school for Christmas Break), and finish up her session in the spring when her cast was off and the weather is prettier. She got to take her cast off early, but we went ahead and did the mini-session anyway! We'll finish her pics up in April or May, and think it will be fun to have spring senior pictures! Here's Jessica:
This one is per her mom's request...to colorize only the earrings! :)
What a fun dress for pictures! Maybe we'll have to use it for a few more outdoors in the spring! Thanks for a great mini-session, and I will get your online viewing set up so you can get your choices made so we can meet the yearbook deadline! :)

I have had a request for a package for younger high school girls, something like a "Sweet 16" Session. If you are interested in this, I recommend that you look at the Children/Family/Engagement Session information on the website. We can do one of those sessions for any individual. Sometime soon I'll try to come up with set session policies for it, but for now, I think it would be basically the same as the other sessions, just maybe with a few more outfit changes!
Thanks!

Blog Contest Winner & Another Senior

This is pretty unbelievable, but I just drew from all the names of comments that I got in November, and I actually drew a friend of mine, who is scheduled to come TONIGHT to get pictures done! Isn't that insane! This month's blog comment/contest winner is:

So Jamie, feel free to redeem your free session either tonight or later, it's up to you! How fun! :)
I finished up another senior girl last night, and I wanted to get a little preview up for her immediately while she waits on her proofs. We did a quick little session for her because I had to fit her in between school and another appointment that she had that evening, but I think we did great even though it was a bit rushed! Here's Stephanie:
We went to a home of some people I go to church with, and they are so nice to let me use their backyard for photos. I don't think I have used their place since 2 summers ago, and I forgot how great it was! They have these huge ancient catalpa trees and great old outbuildings, barns etc. It is wonderful for a photo session.I also love it when girls wear their prom dresses outside! It makes for great pictures! It's so "trash the dress"! But so far, we haven't ever actually trashed one, but one girl did rip the tulle on hers a little! Thanks for a great session!

Little boys

I am determined to get a bunch of session edits done this week, so far, I'm doing better than usual! This was my 3rd session with this little boy, Benjamin, for his 6 month pictures, and this time he brought along his big brother. It was a crazy fun time for all of us! We spent quite a bit of time on this session, because babies always need breaks, and big brother Samuel is SO expressive, it made things very silly and interesting! :) I love this family! Here are Benjamin & Samuel:
This last one was so cute, I had to add it! This is Benjamin "flying"! He did this a lot during the session, it was when he gave his best smiles! He makes me excited to meet my own little boy in a few months! :)
I am due in 70 days, which when you look at it that way, sure doesn't seem like too long! With my family, work, Christmas and getting my baby's room done, I'm sure to keep pretty busy the next 70 days! He will be here before I know it! :)

Senior Girl Preview!

I am still finishing up a few seniors this year! This senior wanted photos taken at her Grandma's house, and it was a very gray and dreary day, but she wanted to go ahead and do her session, so we did, and I think it turned out fine! Here's Kim:
Thanks for a great session! I'll call you asap with your book and online viewing! :)

Senior Boy Preview

I have to leave for a wedding in just a few minutes, but I wanted to get this preview up for a great senior session that I had a few weeks ago. We went to the Marina because he works there in the summers, and we got a lot of fun "Dawson's Creek" looking shots, which I loved! Here's Drew:

Thanks for a great session, I will call you next week when I get your proof book!
